I know how you feel my dad has cancer at the moment just diagnosed, he will start his treatment soon and hopefully will recover. I hope your dad recovers to.

Kathleen, I know my life - and hubby's - will change dramatically. I guess having one goddaughter, one godson and a my best friend's 8 month old baby has "taught" me a little bit. But I know every baby, every family is different. I am sure I will need plenty of advice, so if any parents around here woud like to share some tips, they will be welcome .

Dawn, I am sorry about your dad. It is a very stressing time and for me it was very hard to work, think and plan what to do all at the same time and from 7,000 miles away!. But every time I spoke/speak to my dad I try to assure him everything was/is going to be ok, especially when he had to go through all those uncomfortable tests. I truly hope your dad gets the best treatment. I'll be thinking of you and your family.

Apart from the colon cancer, doctors found another tumour in one of my dad's kidneys but they couldn't do anything with it when he had the surgery. Docs think the tumour may shrink with the chemo. But, we are all trying to face this with the most positive attitude. I can only think of how happy I will be when I see him (and my mum) in January.

My best wishes for you, the becoming mother, and your Dad. I know this is kind of a shitty advice but never give up hope. I've been through it with my own Dad.

It's great news about the baby! I hope you have a complication-free pregnancy. Best of luck! I hope your dad recovers quickly too. My uncle had that and it was caught early. He's completely fine now.

Vanesa, I really hope your dad will recover fully and as quickly as possible. Must be a stressful time right now.
