I wound up answering Yes to only one, "Do you drink alone?"
I personally define an alcoholic as one who is dependent on alcohol and their drinking affects their lives one way or another.
I drink alone because I do not base my activities on whether or not I have company. That would be co-dependency. I like to have a drink and relax. But I do not need it either and it has never affected any other aspect of my life.
I'm not going to go "WOW, I'm an alcoholic because this website says so!" There is a tendency to demonize any activity that is mind altering without taking into consideration whether there is any real negative effect. As far as I'm concerned...ANY activity can overtake a person's life and have a negative effect, even those perceived as healthy activities such as sports.
You gotta admit it's amusing that if it it involves anything that feels good, be it alcohol, drugs, sex.... it's a problem unless it's under strict guidelines like "drink only in moderation in the company of others" and "have sex with one partner for the purpose of procreation, in the missionary position with the lights off and the covers over you."
