I've always been interested in classical Greek architecture though, pity its all falling to bits.

Honestly, I don't know. For us, there was neither the need nor the time for what I suppose you mean with nightlife. Sights and culture and a little bit of beach time, that's why we were there. Sorry.

no probs. your pics have really piqued my interest and it turns out globespan run cheap flights from glasgow but im not necesarilly sure i'd go if there wasnt sme semblence of decent nightlife.

how expensive or inexpensive was it?

ive been to crete but i dont think cheap beer and vodka is a fair indication of the cost of living in greece as a whole.

Gorgeous pictures - thanks. I have always admired ancient Greek architecture and as Neil said - it's a shame it's deteriorating badly. I have always wanted to travel there and I have spent a lot of time with family in Italy but I have never made it to Greece.
