Has anyone heard of this, use this, know the approx cost?

First thing to do always with this sort of thing : asking a specialist

Something like that has been around for ages. I have never worn braces myself but my friends did and they had to sleep with that if the braces were taken off at night, and wear that for a while after haaving stopped using the braces.

I don't know. It can be seen all the same, and it's probably (guessing here) more uncomfortable than actual braces.

I know of the thingys you have to wear after braces are taken off. But this is a new one. Something you wear instead of wearing any of the normal type of braces.


i had a list of dentist people that did it here in Ireland I must find that and email one of them. My sister is a dental nurse but will not ask the orthadontist (sp?) about them for me!!

I've never heard of this but I'll ask my dentist. I've been considering the idea of braces for a while now, yes I know, at 32! It seems I am not too old yet for them!

I've been considering them for a while too. Actually went to an orthandontist and got a quote. €5000 for metal braces and I would have to wear them for two years. If I wanted white braces add on an extra €1000 and I would have to wear them for longer!

I've heard the Invisalign is expensive but if it works it would be worth it...esp the invisible bit

2000 ish quid my dentist wanted to straighten out some teeth at the side of my mouth. i was like, you think im that bothered that id spend that much money on them?

My cousin started wearing them at 40 so you're definitely young enough, Vanesa! She had worn them as a child but somehow thought she needed them again

I wear Invisaligns. They costed $4000 and the orthodontist takes very detailed impressions of your teeth. They send the impressions to the company and they make all of the aligners and then send them back to the orthodontist. I wear a pair of aligners for 2 weeks and then switch to a new pair. They really are pretty invisible, though, because most people don't know I have them or even forget that I have them. They're working, too, because I can tell a difference. Regular metal braces would have cost $3200 but I am happy I went with these. They don't correct as much as the metal ones do (supposedly) but if you're just interested in straigtening teeth for cosmetic purposes I think it's definitley the best option. My sister had regular metal braces and I think I've had less pain with these and will be finished with wearing them sooner. Plus, with regular braces the orthodontist can tell you that it will take 2 years and you might actually wear them for 3 or more...with these you already have all the trays made so you know exactly how long you will wear them.

yes ive heard of them too. i have been asked if i want to use them but i declined as its abit expencive and i can still eat with them like this so...but go for them if you can afford them
