Maria, I think the new range ipods are thinner and more lightweight. I personally, have a LOT of BJ (amongst others) bootlegs that would be a great addition to what I can already store. I am always wanting more space on my 20GB. The 160GB is slightly out of my price range, but for the new price of £159 for a 80GB, I think it would be money well spent.

I'd rather spend £50 and have a 250gb hard drive for my PC to keep stuff on That's one thing that annoys me about those sort of devices though, they are basically just portable hard drives with a bit of an interface, and they are 5x the cost of buying a harddrive that size.

Well a new 250/320GB HDD is in the offing for me as well, but I agree with what you are saying on some levels. Thing is, it depends on how much you use such a device. I personally use my ipod for upto 3 hours a day during travelling to and from work, so for example £159 for three hours use a day for the next say..three years....money well spent!

Yeah, I understand that a lot of people use them and love them, I was just saying that, to me, they are a total rip-off - and the iPods specifically, as other brands can be much cheaper for the same thing. I just did a quick search and found one on an eBay shop - a 160gb one with a huge screen, can record from external video sources, and plays plenty audio and video formats, and only £150, and in my opinion looks far nicer than the iPods.

I got one as a birthday/wedding present and I'm totally in love with it. I'd been wating an iPod ever since the first one went out and I'm not at all disappointed. Mine is a 30 gb video. Up until a couple of weeks ago I only used it for music but recently I've been playing movies and it's great.

My 80 G iPod is way smaller than my original (first generation) 5 G iPod was. And the purpose is for me to be able to listen to my flac files. I download lots of live bootleg music and the files download as flac (usually).

I don't have to spend any time converting from flac to wav to mp3 just to put them on my iPod - I just transfer them and listen Flac files take up way more room than 128 MB mp3s so I prefer lots more room if I can get it.

I need to get such a new iPOD touch. That thing is ****ing awesome! The touch screen alone is! Anyone knows if the new ones can be run with other software than iTunes, too?

I have 2 Ipods now - a 2gb nano and a 30 gb video ipod, the video one is still in the box, but I LOVE my nano! It is brilliant, I have over 400 songs on it and it still isn't full and it is perfect for the gym. I will use the video one I think when I go to Oz... just in case there are no good films on the flight....

I just watched the (pretty long) video preview for the Ipod Touch. It looks totally amazing. The touch screen is out of this world and so advanced! I love the way you can zoom in and out on pictures and web-pages. It's just a shame there are not enough places here in Liverpool that are wired up to Wi-Fi, or it might be worth the money. In a few years time, I dont think I will be able to cope without one! LOL

I guess you could say I'm addicted to iPods. I have an original Mini, a 30gb Video, a 1gb Shuffle, and I just ordered my 4th one - an iPod Touch. I can't wait to get it.
