Places often do that Russ and have the postage costs as £10. I recently bought some ipod-headphones from amazon for £0.01, but the postage costs were £4.50. LOL

I have a Creative Zen V, before that I had a Creative Zen Micro Photo and before that a Creative Zen touch. People buy ipods because they're popular/fashionable/they don't know any better, fair enough someone looks into different options and goes for an ipod but most people just go "ooh Ipod" I need one of those.

Although I have just bought my girlfriend an Ipod, but thats because a) its pink and creative don't do pink zens! and b) Creatives do have a habit of going wrong occasionally and where shes going soon you can't get them fixed.

oops, creative do do pink zens after all! bugger

I've always preferred Creatives too - I currently have 4! Better look, better price and most importantly better sound!

The biggest capacity I've ever used is 30gb and 2 weeks away saw me use only a fraction of that - it was loaded with hundreds of albums and several films and TV series. Unless I'm away from my computer for 6 months I can't imagine a situation where I'll ever need even close to 160gb on my MP3 player.

I have a Samsung YZP25 and I love it! Before this one I had the cheap random crap, the Samsung really makes a difference. Never had an Ipod, can't comment on those

The Creative Zen is great for being more readily flexible in regards to file type and controls (the Ipod controls are too simple.)

But the thing that really puts the Ipod over the Zen or any others is the fact it's the only player with gapless playback. As short as that little gap is on the Zen, it's not supposed to be there and it wasn't intended to be heard that way. Creative has been ignoring their users constant cries for releasing a patch that will enable gapless playback for years. They lost my business that way (I had a Zen M first and traded it for an Ipod after a month.) When they catch up, I'll be happy to look at them again. It's only a matter of time before all other manufacturers take the same attitude Apple does, which is gapless playback is a given and anything less is bullshit.

I have to admit access to Itunes was part of the attraction because it was the only service that allowed you to actually buy the songs and own them. The rest of the services have you paying a rental fee, basically. I don't actually buy albums through Itunes as I'm still a "buy the CD, rip it, shelve it as hard copy" type, but it is nice for a song here and there where I wouldn't buy a whole album to begin with (like this past week I got the urge to hear Metal Health by Quiet Riot. I really don't need the whole album.)

I'm waiting for a service that will let you shop online for the album, purchase it with immediate access to the mp3s for download with the CD on the way in the mail. Amazon is supposed to have their own music service start up this month. I have no idea if they will actually do that, but they are very much in a position to offer that service.

Ipods really do change everything. Like Kathleen, I used to wait until I got home to my "good" system. Now my entire music collection goes in my pocket with me wherever I go. I used to think of them as glorified walkmans in a different format, but it really is beyond that. It's one of those things that don't really make that light bulb go off until you are using it. I also started getting up off my ass and heading down to the beach to walk/jog, losing weight in the process while getting my daily diet of music. The days of being anchored to one spot to listen to music are gone.

I only recently finally tagged my bootlegs for putting on my Ipod. I wound up taking my Bon Jovi bootlegs and tagging each show's album name by year, date and Location. This keeps things pretty tidy since when viewing under Artist name all of the shows appear in order batched together without being mixed all over the place with the official releases by letting them go through with whatever names were made up for them by bootleggers (such as "King of the Airwaves" appearing under Keep the Faith.) The only downside with Bon Jovi in particular is 7,800 F gets separated from the rest of the group because it winds up at the bottom of the list after all of the bootlegs are listed in chronological order.

You're bothered about literally a split second O.o ?

Although I suppose I can understand the issue if you're a DJ etc, since it would be very noticable then. Personally I've never even thought about it untill you mentioned it just now
