I didn't do the BBC one, but I've done quite a few in the past year, with various results. I did one last night and got 122, but I've also had scores around 150.

I made two tests on CD-R. One time I got 105, the other time 111 and at the one on tv (anytime last year) I got 136. Anything must be wrong about all that if you ask me...

Not really... the actual SCORE isn't that meaningful by itself. Different tests score differently. A 150 on one test might be a 100 on another. Also different tests tap into different skills--verbal, nonverbal, performance, memory.

So where's the sense about all those tests if only someone who has a comparism to other ones can use it?

The people who are using the scores will know what they mean and explain it to the client. Organizations that use standard scores will have guidelines based on what tests they accept and what scores they accept. A percentile score is more universally meaningful than a standard score because percentiles are limited (less than 1 to 99.99). Standard scores may have different means and standard deviations which is why they don't mean as much given by themselves.
