Youa re right, but I don't mean unconsious in this way...... My Dad was a Manchester United fan, his Dad was a Man U fan, and I'm a Man U fan. I never decided this, I've always been one, it's who I am, it's what I know. Now obvously I could change this, but it's the environment I was brought up in. I'm not saying that because we see magasines that makes us think this is beautiful, because by the time you're reading mag's you probably have a good idea on what attracts you. I'm saying that because "everybody" i.e the whole of society is looking at this as an ideal, then that it has become what everybody is brought into. A mag couldn't change this, because it's somethign that has become very set within how people think. You;re not being brainwashed by anybody, it's just the way that people think, and it's how you're brought up. The models, and people who select mag pictures are in the same boat as everybody else, it's not them that are dictating who is beautiful or not....

Plus, Julia Roberts doesn't look like the sort of 'universal' attractive. However, a lot of men would find her very attractive (me being one of them) because of the qualities (maybe even unusual qualities) she does have..... most prominent her smile. But then again, she has a fantastic body, great hair, and nothing deffinately unatractive, so she is still very apealing. Also, the idea of 'universal' attractiveness not being attractive is rubbish. If a guy see's a girl who looks 'perfect' even if he thinks "well there's nothign unusual, or individual about that", if she goes over and gives it on a plate he'd take it!

Although, it has been a disadvantage having such a big club being also my local club. Because there are so many people going in to see them from all over the place, and it's always a sell out, it's near impossiable to get tickets. I have been this year, and now that I'm earing money, and have paid off my keyboards, I'm going to become a member next year and go down regularly

now I 'll have to disgree with you about magazine or other stuff like this.

If you look at 15th century painting, ( the magazine or picture of back them) fat people were attrative...
Now look at a Playboy from the first years like in the 60's, the girl had way more curve them today's playmate.

so you can see that medias will change what is considered beautiful. You just a magazine to start a new trend (like new trend of the coyboy outfit) and this will be deemed as beautiful because Cosmo or GQ have said its beautiful. Lot of People believe anything they are feed by well-know magazine... if Cosmo said bald head for lady is the new "beautiful" this mihgt start a new trend and the new standard of beauty would be bald head!
So I firmly believe that this "social education", the "what-we-are-brough-on", is big-time influenced by what media says.
