Really??
Yup really. You get used to having a certain amount of money. At school I went on work experience with the council as a Dog Warden, I really loved it but they get paid just above the minimum wage. Its fair enough having a job what you love but whats the point if it doesn pay for you to do the things you love when youre not at work??? My motto is Work to live not live to work!!!
But if you had a job you Really enjoyed, you'd be working to live as well as living to work.

But if you had no money youd have no life out of work

But if you had a job you Really enjoyed, you'd be working to live as well as living to work.

i disagree. sorry to bang back to the motivational theorists again but if we take maslow for example. money helps fulfill every single one of those needs. and if you're telling me you can't buy status, to a certain extent, then i'll have to disagree. even if you did have a job you enjoyed, that's all it is and you need to be able to switch off from work by doing other things, usually involving money!

We r crossing the realms of Motivators to Hygiene factors. I was originally talking about ppl being paid a high enough wage to warrant it being a motivator. The staff turnover was high.

So long as the wage is enough to cover the employees hygiene factors I don't think they would have any problem going into a job they would love doing.

Yeah but (I get these ppl mixed up) - The guy with the pyramid. The top one was self-fulfillment. How r u going to get self-fulfillment in a job u don't like?? & my original point was a job you would really hate.

yeh, that's maslow.

in my eyes, you can't be fulfilled if the money isn't there. i wouldn't go home at night, barely able to pay the bills, feeling that my job had given me something wages never could.

at the other end of the spectrum, i can se your point. if you're stuck in a crap job earning loads of money, your higher order needs won't be satisfied either.

double edged sword.

IF I HEAR ONE MORE MANAGEMENT CONCEPT I'M GOING TO HAVE TO STRANGLE SOMEONE

being the right wing capitalist pig that i am i have come t the conclusion that:

money is good lots of money is even better. having a job u like is good, having a job u like that pays shit on the other hand is not good. repeat
