Davesta just summed it up perfectly. I'm trying to think what I'd do in the same situation, if someone hit a female friend of mine in the face with a brick when I was around, and I think I'd probably pull a knife on the guy. Kill him?...would have to depend on how hard he hit her, how serious he was about it, and if the damage he did was permanent. I would hurt him though. Very badly.
