Problem is Goose - is that mental illness is always the Ace in the pack for getting a convicted man off the hook!! & the Lawyers in America r good (at this sort of thing). Look at that berk how killed the 2 little girls.... tried to claim mental illness.. Probably still will!!

Yeah, the amount of times you hear people claiming 'temporary insanity' because they killed their wife and her lover when they found them in bed together....

I mean, if you start to say people who are mentally ill can get off becuase they don't know what they are doing is wrong, what about people who had a rough upbringing, and weren't given a solid understanding of what is righ? It's not nice, it's not totally their fault, but they are still a danger to other people, and they still committed a crime that affected another person... I don't think mental illness washes in murder cases, as at the end of the day, a person is dead, they are no less dead if you're ill or not...

I'm sure he will claim mental illness, but again, that won't bring the two girls back, that won't stop him from being a threat to other girls... He needs locking up, reguardless of state of mind.

To be honest - Rampton would be the best place for him, mentally ill or not!!

Then again - life would be hell for him in prison!!

Thats why there r places like Rampton etc.. to keep these dangerous ppl away & some of them r genuinely mentally ill... Its just that this area has been abused & will continue to be abused many times.

yeah, but imagine it was you're child... Would you be happy that they're in a mental hospital, and not a prison? I'd feel cheated... and there would be no sence of justice...

Depends on the circumstances.. if the person is genuinely mentally ill - chances are they would have been identified & restrained before they had the chance to do any major damage.

Which is what I meant.
