What you find in public areas is Toilets. I hate hearing Americans refer to them as bathrooms, or the worst thing is calling it a John :@

It is normal in India, but not girls but with boys. But i never thought it exist there too.

It's ok if you really need to go, but there's no toilet around... But then you go behind a bush in a dark corner somewhere... And even then I only accept it in an emergency situation.

anyway it sounds gross going for a piss in public, i used to think that only happened in continental europe (not being racist but the french unfortunately have a reputation for crapping by the sides of motorways!) but it seems to be becoming more common in britain all of a sudden. a few months ago i was walking down a street full of shops in a suburb and there were people everywhere and this mum and her young daughter came along. there was a plant right in front of a shop full of ppl, only about 1 metre from the shop, and less than 1 m from the main road full of cars, and only 100 or 200 metres away from the nearest public toilets. the mother pulled down her daughters pants and held her above the plant and told her to pee on it. this was in broad daylight (about 3 in the afternoon) in the middle of the day, there were people everywhere, the mum made no attempt to hide her daughter and what she was doing - i couldnt believe it!

I think bathroom sounds a lot more civilized than toilet.

I have to go to the toilet.
