Default It's the time of the year again...

for the anual goodbye or good riddance thread !

So how was your 2005? Are you glad it's nearly done or do you wish it would go on forever.

I'm glad it's all done in a few days and hopefully 2006 will bring me some more luck. There's just one highlight (a very big one at that) - getting together with my boyfriend . We're really happy and together things are going really well .

But other than that... My grandmother sadly passed away at the age of 94 in March... although it was probably for the better, I was very very sad. The first half of the year all I could look forward to was the summer holidays - I basicly hated everything else I was doing at the time... We would be making a long roadtrip to Scandinavia in the summer. Unfortunately all our plans got destroyed when we ended up in a car accident in Norway and had to go back.

And that's just a small part of all the deep lows of 2005. So - it's good riddance 2005 for me.

I like this kind of topics ...

For me :

- Placement abroad (Madrid) which was the greatest month of the year, if not - my life!
- Graduated in June which made me very happy!
- Trouble with jobs ... Worked in a supermarket, then got a job as a teacher (finally) ... Now searching for teacher-job again cause the teacher I replaced got back.
- Fell in love badly at the end of 2004 ... Got very badly hurt by the guy in 2005 ...
- Losing my dog (a few weeks ago) which was and still is the hardest thing I had to go trough.
- Holiday in Spain (August) which was ok but nothing special
- Got tickets for 4x Bon Jovi-shows (GCwhere I wanted it) + Robbie Williams

This last make me look forward to 2006 a lot.

These are the first things that came up in my mind ... I'm sure there were more important things ... If I think of them I'll post again hehe.

2005 was pretty great to be honest but the way things are looking 2006 is going to start off pretty shit at least with my family.
apparently i've "turned into an arsehol" the past couple of weeks for certain reasons.

Im saying Good Riddance to 2005. Wasnt really a good year. The end of it was ok. I met my boyfriend which is great (not so great that he lives 3 hours away but we're doing good) Got Jovi GC tickets to Dublin & London.

2006 I think will be much better for me...My job will be changing for the better in mid Feb. I get to see Bon Jovi at least twice. Planning on going to Belgium to see the Grand Prix and my boyfriend and I are making plans to do some travelling.

The only not so good thing about 2006 is that I will have to make a major decision which I am not looking forward to making right now...but who knows as the year goes on it might get a lot easier to make.

I'm really sorry to hear that Valerie . I think I met your dog in 2004 - it's really tough to loose such a big friend .

It has been a really good year for me so i am not sure whether i should be happy that it's over

i have had the time of my life in costa rica and spain. (as some of you know, costa rica also had its down sides but the good prevailed)., plus i got to see cuba and nicaragua. i had some "affairs" with guys LOL none of whom i was really in love with so i never got heart broken this year i got to see some really good bands (foo fighters, incubus, santana, the subways, the futureheads, the hives, pixies, social distortion, queens of the stone age, dropkick murphys and a few more) and i have tickets for BJ and Robbie Williams for next year, so that will be a blast

Also next year I have to start on my thesis, which I am most definately not looking forward to. I will also be back in Austria and therefore exposed to a lot more stress regarding uni & exams

I wish 2005 could last.

2005 was great. i met (well started going out with) my girlfriend back in fenbruary and all is going well on that front. i've moved to a new office in uxbridge (not sure how long that will last for yet, though) and am really enjoying my job, the challenges it brings and the opportunites it's opening up for me. all is good

I say good riddance. 2005 wasn't awfully bad, but 2004 had been so great that it compared badly to it. The time spent with my boyfriend was incredibly good, but as far as family is concerned this has been an awful year with lots of things going wrong. June was the worst month ever - totally hellish. Summer, on the other hand, was fabulous: spent a month in Barcelona with my boyfriend and we both travelled to Stockholm, which we loved.

By my experience even years are better - I'm not superstitious, but it has always been so with me - so I'm looking forward to 2006.

2005 was weird.
It was great for me : I became a dad, my job is going great, just got a big raise, everything I've tried artistically succeeded, had a lot of fun, saw great concerts... etc.
But it was terrible for my close ones. My parents broke up, so did 3 of my best friends, each had been with their girlfriends for 5 years+ (and they are great friends too). One of them lost his father because of cancer. My sister had a very tough time supporting a friend of hers that lost husband and 2 daughters in the tsunami...
On a larger scale : terrorism, war, riots, social decadence, earthquakes, hurricanes... but then poor countries finally see their debt erased, the Kyoto protocole will survive 2012 (officially)...

A very uneven year.

2005 (so far) was kinda stressful but overall good. i graduated from uni, i got accepted in a master and i had the best summer vacation ever (in several countries in central europe). i had to study a lot but i can't complain. oh also i started working for the very first time in my life.
a couple of days ago, one of my best friends left for a phd in ohio and i'm sad about us being separated after so many years we've known each other but happy for him.
