thats because those names exist in so many different languages and everyone translates it in his way. for example in german its Maria and Josef so in hebraic or what ever he might have spoke if he existed it will be an other version.

it`s interessting to me as a catholic that hasn`t been to any church for ages that even a religion teacher from me in scool said that most storys of the bible are just wrong translations. like virgin that could have meant somthing completley different (she might think so cause in german the word for it sounds quite simular to young women ) and others like walking over water etc. thats just because the bible was written in a language that used pictures to discribe things. I wonder if someone who really really belives in god thinks all those storys are wrong whats left?

no idea.

you knpow whats the worst part. there's a chapel across the road form me and when i finish work on sunday mornings they're all heading there and a large amount of them r going dressed as if they're going to the pub and some of them even have the audacity to wear football strips and caps.

now i go to church maybe 2 or 3 times a year for certain things but i still have the respect to treat church how it should be which means actually putting an effort in when u go instead of rollign out of bed and chuckign on whatevers on the floor.

of course because i choose to work on a sunday morning and doing graft and producing something people want and need instead of going to church, chapel or whatever it may be makes me a worse person than the eejits going in celtic strips.

Science is not made to answer the question "Why?" but "How?". Scientists know how we are born, how we grow and how we die.

Classic line from Jurassic Park that I think is all too true:

"Scientists were so pre-occuppied as to whether or not they could, that they didn't stop to think if they should!"

I think science is good when its used for something positive but when you see cloning articles where everyone's fighting to produce the first cloned human, it just stinks! they're doing it for their own personal gain and noteriety, not for the positive effect it DOESN'T have for mankind.

Sorry, I only brought this up because science was mentioned. Not really relevant - oops!

you don't know me mr self righteous so i don't think you should be passing judgement or actually telling me what i'm like. on one hand im making my own mind up about what i believe whereas you're believing whatever some preacher and book tells u and you don't even see whats wrong with that.

thats something I never quite understood, why is it important what you wear? do you think god looks down and thinks "hey that guy wears a football cap in church he`s gonna go to hell" don`t even get why we have to go to a church and listen to the boring preachers to prove anything to god

some of the more conservative groups take things like that really seriously- some insist that women have their head covered in church cause theres a reference to it in the bible...

some say that not wearing your best is a sign of not respecting god...

personally i dont think that god would care what you wear as long as you are there and not being hypocritical...
