running something like that ur overheads r
gear hire venue hire printing up tickets and that pretty much covers it, maybe a buffet or we cud just find somewhere with a good indian next door

of course the band would need a rider
this does sound like a plan for me but that room looks pretty small (need to see numbers 1st) and the pool tables nm stuff wud have to go i reckon?? would it just be us or cud we bring a guest or 2? i doubt my girlfriend would find the prospect of me disappearing myself, somewhere down south with my guitar and a carry out just before Christmas appealing. and i wasn't joking about the rider

reading these posts....
ill say what i have to say..... i have some PA speakers and mic's but no transport (or powered mix at the moment cause mine bust) is someone with a car wanted to collect them that would be cool- it would make sense for someone who'd have to come fairly near anyway.. but that would be sorted.. alternativcely, i was loking at hiring pa systema and its 90 quid for three days from a shop in chesterfield.... id be happy to sing, but i really do think that the idea of loads of people being involved would be brilliant- and better than hiring a cover band (whichis waaaaaaaaaaay expensive) my thoughts on that are- everyone will know most of the songs anyhow so if were just all together having a jam then noone will mind if someone goes wrong or whatever, and eveyone will be singing along etc... swapping people round i think would work fine we'd just need to organise stuff- but hey- master organiser here!!! i could sort it.... as for dates... definately afriday or a saturday is required- just for people who are woking of are at uni (not actually applicable to me as im only in on wednesday mornings and all day tuedays  ) but yeahgood idea! sara
