Ooooh, Carlos Santana, he can go on my list as well

Contemplating putting EVH on it, but its really just too much technique and not enough about the sound... nah, leave him off

Keep On Rockin'

come on man the guy has great tone and chops.

thing is that what he played was perfect for the songs and not many people can play like that.

Never heard the chops, but he did have a good sound. Mostly he just played single notes.

He played for the songs alright, but I haven't heard him do anything that would make me go "wow!". Lots of delay and single note riffs repeated, not my cup.

If you really listen to the Police there's alot of great guitar stuff in their.

K he's not shredding all over the boar dbut playing with taste comes above everything else and you have to remember that he actually came up with those guitar parts. It's much easier to play along with somethign than actually come up with it.

goto give jeff lynne from tom petty and heartbreakers and chris stein from blondie a shout too.

not particularly wild solo players but still great players nontheless.

From my limited knowledge of guitarists

1 Richie
2. Brian May
3. Slash
4. Noel Gallagher (ok the solos he does are quite basic, but hes a real perfectionist and the guitar riffs always sound great live)
5. Steve Clark R.I.P
