Default Just a little help

I know we have discussed it before, but does anyone have the links to the topic about compulsary national service for the US.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A link to the discussion here, or links to various articles/info on the plan to enslave American children?

Also, it should be noted, one of the bills died a well deserved death in Senate a few days ago. My only regret is the same didn't happen to those who supported it as well.

Also of note, Bush has filled, or is in the process of filling all 10,000 draft board positions. While filling some seats are required every time there's an armed conflict, no president in the history of selective service has filled ALL of them.

So, you have no problem with keeping Automatic Rifles and ammo in your house, however should you be made to go to a place where you can learn how to actually use the rifle in a responsible and correct matter....you wont... Nice one !

Where the heck did I say I advocated keeping automatic rifles in my house? ....oh wait...I asked Jim for one, didn't I.... That was a joke. I would've thought you'd understand that. Especially when the next line starts "Seriously now" or something like that?

And as for being forced to learn how to handle them, I am against that. That's slavery. The civilized world left that behind many years ago, or so I hope.

Weren't you the one who's all pro-freedom? The one who advertises assult weapons on his avatar? The one who thinks everyone should be allowed to do anything?

You believe being forced to learn how to handle weapons is slavery??? Wait. You dislike the word "forced", am I right? You don't even get up until "how to handle weapons", right?

Gosh, when did Colt put that advertisement in my avatar. What am I going to do?

It's not an advertisement. An advertisement would be something to the effect of "Hey y'all, the new M96 is only $1500! Visit this link and pick one up!" That's an advertisement. That's not what I have. I've got a simple message regarding voting your rights. Big difference. And if you can recall me arguing for the right of citizens to own automatic weapons (which were NOT covered by the assault weapons ban, that banned UGLY weapons), feel free to roam back through the Jovitalk archives and find the quote. I'd love to see it. And by the way, I seem to remember telling Ponrauil in our last debate that SEMI-auto rifles were the best battle rifles for civilian militia/ownership, that the US military was issue some groups semi-autos.

Yes, I think it would indeed be slavery if the feds marched everyone, willing and unwilling down to the local shooting range and forced them to learn how to handle weapons. But back to the subject at hand, I was responding to Mongoose's post that (basically) stated that I shouldn't have a problem with the draft (slavery) if I advocated the ownership of automatic weapons, something he pulled from a statement I made in jest to Jim.

The draft is slavery. Plain and simple. I don't care what historical precedents there are for it, I don't care if they pay the slaves, I don't care if people see it as necessary, I don't care if it's mandated by God. If you force me through the violence of law to fight and die against my will, that's slavery.

Both you and I's country benefitted greatly from slavery.

I don't agree with, condone or find it morally right on any count but it did get us a long way to where we are just now.

Btw I'm curious as to exactly the likelihood of ther ebeing a militia of civvies in the US?

you seem to go on about it alot but the world has changed a hell of alot since the 18th century.

Just a link to the discussion thread was all I needed, not another argument in the message board. Not pointing any fingers.
