To the country's detriment, Slick Willy put a lot of militias out of business for fear of being prosecuted on trumped up charges. There was a big boom in militia enrollment (and we're not talking about "rednecks" with camo and shotguns here, these were ordinary people) in the 90s, and the feds didn't like that, so they infiltrated several groups, and set them up for a big fall. But you can be assured, there are still militias out there. I don't know of any off the top of my head, but they're there. Hey, I'd probably join one if there was one in the area.

Countries that have been overthrown by militia's in the last century:

China,
Cuba,
Half of Africa,
The former USSR,
a significant part of Latin America
Several countries in the middle east and Asia

militia's are good why exactly?.......

don't you think there is a difference in learning how to use one voluntarily and being forced off to war??? cause I sure hope so...

The way I understand it, a draft (or should I say daft) board is a group of people from a certain are who process the draft numbers, decide who's getting drafted, and oversee appeals.

Any time there's an armed conflict involving US troops, there's a law that says the president needs to start filling the draft board seats. George Sr did it, Slick Willy did it, every president who has been in office back to the rebooting of selective service (Reagan or Carter is to blame for that I think) has done it. But Boy George is the only president in the history of the program to fill ALL the seats.

We sign up for it all right. It's a perverted consent system. All males, upon turning 18, have 60 days to enter their name into the Selective Service system, otherwise they can be punished by up to 1.5 years in prison. Should a draft ever start, all those who have entered their names can be called up for duty. Basically, they're coercing us into signing up for the military.

If anyone wants to take their chances with NOT signing up, the penalty is stiff, if you're convicted. Something like 24 out of 27 modern day draft dodgers have gotten off, the feds know that when they prosecute, it drives down the number of recruits. I've got about 2 weeks to sign my life over to the bastards, I'm nearing the end of my 60 days.
