I had noticed that some folk were complaining at the use of the ecoticons, but I say if you want to use them then by all means, hell thats what they are there for.

I think emoticons can be good at conveying emotion, or as someone said "an emoticon is worth a thousand words" (or something like that), and maybe so, but how can you hold a conversation spanning many pages, with only emoticons?;

(someone tells a joke)

and it can go on like this.

If people have nothing better to worry about than the fact that some people like to use emoticons to post here....they really need to get a life. Who cares.....how hard is it to keep scrolling past them?????

It's just that you have no problem defending a person like KRB, yet you bash Choc. for using emoticons. Emoticons are not meant to upset people. KRB thrives on it.

I guess I just don't read all of the threads. It is only the last few weeks I have really got into the board. I have been here and posted more in the last month than I did between the board opening and the start of the 2003.
I think my posts have actaully double since then too.

If he really did say stuff like that, then I am sorry for defending him. He did make some valid points, and was mistreated, but there's no excuse for saying stuff like that. Or for being racist or making personal attacks against people.

it's up to you as a poster then to help people get back to the point... in any "real" conversation amongst more than 2 people the subject will go off track... it's no different to on here

Like I said, I have spent more time here recently, but I don't read through all of every post. I see which is interesting, and then go from there, leaving when it goes off topic.

I think krb is mentally ill, and needs help (not a personal attack, but based on the new information I have on him from tonight)
