Actually, I can. Back in the good old days you had to have proof/money, now people come in by the droves and apply for welfare and expect us to support them. I wish it would go back to the old ways. They take advantage of the system, like a great many do.

Not only that, but it sounds like he wants to somehow nationalize college tuition, giving government control over how much it costs to get into college, as well as just handing out college spots to minorities and women, not for any achievement, but simply because they're minorities and women. Not only that, he wants to use even more taxpayer money to help people get into college. Great idea! Now, when I want to go to college, I'll be helping to pay for someone else's tuition as well as my own. Plus he wants to create some kind or real-time medical database with everyone's medical records in them. Tell me the FBI won't have access to that...

Like his father? I think that was in the forseeable future. It's not like Bush Sr. had a better reson to invade Iraq, Kuwait would've been freed with a lot lower scale action.

That's called "social security". That's what we in Europe have. For example, we in Finland have the biggest taxes in the world, but also the best health care. I wouldn't mind paying lower taxes but I'm not ready to compromise on the existing social structure.

Regarding the immigrants, I think the US has a problem. The welfare isn't one, but more the attitude towards the immigrants. I'm not saying people should accept everyone in, but for an outsider it sounds like the general attitude towards immigrants is real racist.

And BTW, communism has nothing to do with higher taxes and better social care. If you really think about it, communism as an ideal is the American dream; for the people, by the people. Ironic, isn't it?

What Adrian was pointing out is that people who should be getting into uni ie people who get the grades won't because they have certain quota's of minotrities etc... to let in even if it means letting someone with lower grades in.

As far as I'm aware it's been happening with black students as part of affirmative action for years.

giving people a chance is fine but just imagine you get the right grades but someone who didn't do as well gets in instead of you just because they're "discriminated against"
