Gee Mouse - Exactly the same thing happened to me when I moved into this house in Ridgewood. We blocked the access with chickenwire temporarily until spring when we could do a more complete repair. Our squirrel seemed to like to go in and out - so we waited until it was out and nailed small mesh wire over the hole. Can you do something like that yourself? That was all we could do at the time since we didn't even know who to call for help here. Good luck
