Actually he wrote that in June, & didn't get in any trouble for it. It was republished without his knowledge in a time when ppl weren't bombarded with anti-arab propoganda.

i would say irish people bomb peoplke not all irish not some irish just irish for the same reason killroy said arabs. everyone knows not every arab does that and everyone knows not every irishman sipping pints of guiness plotting to plant bombs.

look at it from a different perspective. how many slanderous words and column inches against this country and the british people r put in the arab newspapers on sale around britain?

take a similar case. all abu azam hamza or whatever hes called does is pretty much preach anti western hatred to his people even going so far as to tell them to take up arms.

the government cant do nothing because of course kicking someone saying Muslisms should declare a Jihad on our streets is racist but does the Muslim community reprimand him in anyway?

u can't own a mosque just the same way as u cant own a church so if they wanted to the Muslim church could easilly stop hamza preaching but they don't and until somethigns done about him i dont see why something should be done about killroy who ultimately was expressing his opinion which no one can deny is true. he never actualyl said all arabs in any of it and i dunno where the "arabs have contributed nothign to the world" quotes have come from but they werent in that article.

You would make a conscious effort to write IRA as oppossed to Irish so as not to wringly insult ppl.

Dunno - I don't read them. I don't think they crucify the british as blatantly as that article.

They were clearly implied in that article. It is hard to come to any other conclusion.
Concerning the hamza guy - just because that particular mosque will allow generalisation & dangerous words doesn't mean the BBC wants to.

the BBC suspending him is a fair enough move since their supposed to remain neutral to most things but i'm glad the paper's sticking up for him at least.

Maybe it's just me but whereas it was pretty close to the line, i don't see anything of what he's said in that article as racist or untrue.

Yes generalising all Arabs is the downfall of the article but then again the biggest generalisation in the world today is the east and West and only a fool wouldn't believe Arabs generalise all westeners the same as we generalise them.

I'm sure some of them do, but we don't have to read it & ultimately shouldn't bring ourselves down to the level of those that do.

If he said we owe nothing to arabs, then it is untrue. As Kathleen said we own them a lot for Maths, there's also Ibn Kaldun who was a muslim judge 600 years ago, who is considered as one of the fathers of modern sociology, there are a lot of respected arab philosophers, arab music as influenced a lot of other cultures music styles, I could go on... Arabs have contributed to our present culture and level of knowledge as much as other civilisations.

Sure but that doesn't mean it's clever to generalise does it? What strikes me most is that he seems to think Arabs and Muslims are the same, or even that arab=muslim=islamist (who provide suicide bombers, most disrespect to women etc..). Ok a lot of Arabs are muslims, not all muslims are arabs, not all muslims are islamists, actually a minority are.
I'm just saying it's a too complex matter to make the statements he did sound true and tolerant.

What happened to freedom of speech? i thought that we lived in a free country were we can say what we like even if it goes against what the majority think! What Kilroy said to some respect is true in some cases although it has been taken out of context and he didnt say it as a racist slurr he shouldn't be punished for what he said origanally.BTW i'm not a racist just believe in freedom of speech!
