My Cousin attepted suicide, no-one knew why. She was living in London, had a lovely Husband and three gorgeous children. Unfortunately she passed away 4 years ago now, since then we have been told that she had been clinically depressed since she was a child. Like I say, no-one knew even what she was going through.

Some people say that suicide is the cowards way out, but until they know what it feels like for things to get so bad, they dont wanna live anymore, then they really cannot judge.

I knew two older men who shot themselves in the head. The first one did so after his wife died. The other did so after he was accused of molesting his granddaughter. He left a note that said he didn't do it, but his name would always be tarnished and he couldn't live with that. I have an acquaintance who works at my vet's office whose husband shot himself a few months ago because she was planning on divorcing him. I'm friendly with his wife (since I'm one of the vet's best customers), but I never met him before.

I'll have to agree with you on that 100%!

What a topic - whew. A long time ago, a close friends sister killed herself. I never knew her but I saw what it did to her family and I must say that is the worst part. To this day they question if they could have done something to prevent it. Also, a single mother friend of mine killed herself in the seventies leaving a 6 month old baby. I thought (and still do) that it was an extremely selfish act - she never thought of what would become of her child. There were no grandparents around that I knew of and that baby wound up in the foster care system.

As I was reading all these posts, it's obvious that this is something that has touched a LOT of people. The lyric kept echoing in my head as I was reading - and no one gets out of here alive.

she probably suffered from postpartum depression. if so, she was in no position to act selfish or unselfish - that concept couldn't apply.
