If Kylie was a big idol of mine, fair enuff it may effect me in some way. But to me, I care no more about Kylie getting it than someone who works in a supermarket.
But isn't always that way...??. I mean when something happen to big celebrtiy isn;t media and public always go over board?. so i think its normal and nothing unusal... Well u see there are thousand people dying of AIDS in africa and i saw on TV that there is one small country which has highest level of aids and there in every house there is one or other suffering from AIDS and others also likely to get effected sooner or later... But those things never make into big news or many people know or care too much..... Its sad but thats the way this world work....

So the press shouldn't give Kylie this publicity? And people shouldn't say they feel sorry for her?

I don't get it either. Ofcourse many women get the same desease and ofcourse I feel sorry for women who get breast cancer, but I can't really say it as I don't know them that well as I know Kylie.

She's a celebrity, and it's news. So what's so weird about it? She's in the news when she goes shopping, has a new haircut and all that stuff. Shouldn't you be complaining about many other people doing that as well?

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Of course its news and needs reporting but when you pick up a paper and half the articles are about it, its getting out of hand. I dont feel any more sorry for Kylie than I do for any "regular" person in her situation.

Why do you feel that you know Kylie more than someone who you've never met???

Because I've seen Kylie, and have seen her perform and give interviews. I'm not saying that I know Kylie personal, but I still know her a lot more than someone I've never seen in my entire life.

This whole thing with Kylie is extremely sad, but I dont particularly get upset about it. As I was saying to Carli last night, I think if it was someone who we really liked or admired, then it would be a different story. Of course on a bon jovi message board, its not gonna be headline news, but on her message board, her fans will be extremely upset and worried for the singer, and thats fine. As Seb was saying, the more you know someone (whether you have met them or not), then the more upset you will feel for this person.

For me it is as bad as when I hear of a "regular" person in that same situation. Fortunately for her, though, she'll have the money to pay for the best treatments which some regular people can't afford. I'm not saying this makes it any less worse for her though!

But the good thing is, it will probably bring a lot of awareness to the cause and all that. Also if she gets over it - which I certainly hope she will - she might be a source of inspiration and hope for people in the same situation.

I really like this point. I never thought about it that way. Looking at it the way Keeper described, Im also highly confident that it will raise some awareness for breast cancer and thats not a bad thing at all. I dont think any harm can come of all her publicity this week.

Because this is the one she has. I'm pretty sure if another celebrity had another kind of cancer tha focus would go to that. I see your point, but that's the way things stand, and that's better than nothing at all.
