I agree 100% with Ice here. There's no need to abbreviate every word you type in a message. Then again every post does not need to be written like a college thesis either. Posting on a message board is different than sending text messages on a cell phone. You have more time to proof read your post as well as edit it after the fact. Everyone should at least make the effort to post something that other readers don't have to decipher to understand.

As long as they're capable of being understood, I don't care if they misspell a few things or use less than college level grammar.

I know I just pointed that out to say how exaggerated the whole issue really is. I mean it's taken 3 threads already, and at the end of the day people will just post how they post.

True, when I first started visiting this board, I had no clue what most of these abbreviations were for, most of the time I ended up looking at the cd track listings to find out! Getting a bit more used to it now though, it is annoying when someone abbreviates song names that aren't very commonly known.
