Funny, i was thinking of a thread about that yesterday

I'd like to do it but it's about 800€ per eye.

Some persons say they don't do it for a long time so it's maybe better to wait a few years to see what are the problems with this surgery if there are some ....

I know 3 persons who did it and it completely changed her lifes !!! they'd do it again tomorrow, any doubt. They said it was not more painful or unpleasant than when you have some laser for your retina .... (fell down just twice )

I think i'll do it when i can afford it. True about the risks that maybe we don't know yet. But since a few years ago when they told me i'll have to wear glasses all the time i always thought of it. Lucky i can wear lenses but not always, my eyes are too fragile.

No really as soon as i can i think i'll do it. Of course first to have to ask people who did where they did it, which doctor etc ... better to pay the price but to get the best surgery.

yeah that's what I think too, but then I feel I qualify for that; not being able to read a book without glasses and that's not because I'm farsighted - which I'm not . I can't do a thing without glasses or contacts.

Contacts & glasses are ok, but I just get annoyed by them many times. Contacts can be very irritating and glasses just scales everything down I see. It would be so cool to wake up not having to bother about my eyes .

And again having surgery is indiviual call i guess... if u really need to have then u should go for it... Waking up and not seeing a thing is realy not good thing

Oh yeah, goes without saying. I mean, who's going to splash like £1200 when all they have to do is wear glasses for reading...?

Tell me about it! I have been having these weird eye problems for a couple of weeks. At first I thought it was soemthign to do with the contacts. I used to wear soft contacts a few years back but had to give up on them. Then I switched to hard ones and I have been perfectly okay since. So I was really scared. I can't stand wearing glasses. As far as looks are concerned I couldn't care less, but I'm so very uncomfortable with them.

Then it turned out that my tear in my right eye is incredibly low-quality and is not doing its job. I have to use artificial tears now, with and without contacts. And I usually wake up with a redish eye because it can't breathe properly while I'm sleeping. Go figure.

All this is to say that eyes are extremely delicate and the smallest thing might harm them. An operation - however supposedly easy - is always a serious matter and should be considered really carefully. Perhaps we should be "glad" that the price is so high so that we take time and consider it.

Have you tried one-day lenses?
