Really? At my school it isn't like that. We have a huge melting pot too, but everyone participates in the same things, reads the same books, etc. I am shocked to hear that it is like that there. How can a teacher teach an entire class, if some students can't even read the same novel??
I do understand that entire look down on the girls concept. I have had some fathers speak down to me because I am a female, and needless to say it is hard to remain nice.
