Default let's all rant about studying

seriously I'm incredibly grateful that I can study to a disturbingly little degree and still do well at uni but it still does my head in.

It literally takes me about an hour to read through all the stuff I need for my next 2 exams and even at that I'm constantly lookign for excuses not to do it (like posting here )

My brothers missus is mad at studying like literally. she fell out with me because I wouldn't do a shift for her on saturday night so she could study ON A SATURDAY NIGHT :-S then she was like well if i get up at 9 o clock i can study till 3 so that gives me 6 hours before i need to get ready for work. I've not even studied for 6 hours in total for the 3 exams i'm sitting just now.

who else is stuck studyign just now?

at least im done on thursday.

plus my 1st exam was one of the easiest ive ever sat on account of them tellign us nearly word for word what some of the questions would be.

I have an exam tomorrow. Me too, I find excuses like posting here... but I really study and i can't really believe how is it that you study just an hour to prepare an exam!!! For my next exam next month I need to read and study something like 8 books, and then study all my notes and other things....

as i said, I can get away with diong very little studying and still pass.

I don't study just an hour. it takes me an hour to read allt he notes ive got for these 2 exams coming up, i read them once a day in the run up to it. well that's the plan anyways. Most of my probl3em lies in the fact that i can't get worried about exams. I really don't know why but it perplexes me when people get all stressed out or study day and night because they're petrified. it's honestly just something I don't "get" i can't understand it.

per example' a girl on my course works in a club i was in on saturday night. she reads constantly and is totally clued up, i asked her how she thought the exam the other day went and she said she didnt know, she was worried about it.... I was like dont talk pish you know more than me and I thought it was a joke cos they tld us nearly word for word what would be asked, but she was genuinely worried and said she's terrified of her exams this week.... I'm just not like that. it's not event hat I'm flippant, as i said i do study cause I have to but I just cannot get wound up about exams. Never have.

I suppse I'm blessed. I just pick stuff up really easilly and it sticks or it jumps back into memory if I go over it again. That's why I'm full of useless trivia I pick stuff up from reading all sorts of things and most of it just sticks.

I understand what you mean... I'm not worried about my exam, I will probably be tomorrow!! But I'm not spending my time reading and reading again the same things... I have a good memory too, I remember easily what I read, but i still have lots of stuff to study, even if I read them just once it's always a lot...that's what I mean!!

the glory of revision lectures is that on my course anyways, in reality they're just you being told what parts you need to study so you're not wasting your time going over stuff on the corus eyou don't need to know for the exam.

Thus I only need to read and know about 10-20% of the stuff in the modules instead of goign over everything we've covered.

What are you studying?

I suppose im lucky in that history and politics is something I always had aknack for before I even got on the course, when I did accountancy I would've had to kick my ass big time to study and work if I was bothered about passing it.

I'm studying Languages... the exam, tomorrow, is about Italian Litterature... But we are not told what we HAVE to know, so I try to read everything and just hope I will be asked what I know better!! I'm also lucky because it's a subject I've been studying a lot at school, so I still remember a lot of things.

I've been looking into various Ph.D. programs because I'm thinking of upgrading from a Master's, but it gives me a headache to think about it. LOL I'm a bit of a perfectionist and I'm not sure 6 years in the work place will make me relax any more about my grades. I graduated with a 4.0 undgraduate and graduate, so I know I'd want to do that for my Ph.D. I'm just not sure I want to put myself through that again.

it's a matter of wether the outcome and opportunities the Phd will grant you are greater thant he time money resources and effort you need to put in becky. But i'm sure you know that.

sadly here most Phd students are folk who have graduated from uni and don't want to get a job or still don't know what to do with themselves after 4 or 5 years of studying :-S

i think everyone should at least have some form of plan as to why they're at uni. maybe not necesarilly what they want to do exactly when they graduate but at least a good idea of what they're doing and why they're doing it.

sadly tony doesn't seem to give a shit about what happens to people after uin providing they actually make it in in the 1st place and make his education system look good.
