Well, the only time that I've lived alone was when my family went on holiday to Italy and I didn't. I enjoyed it very much. But that was only for 2,5 weeks, so I can't really compare it with a year.  Salaam Aleikum, Sebastiaan

I lived on my own for a few years and loved it but then i am independant sort of person, you will get used to it , it just takes time perhaps join a club and meet new people.Dont worry it will get better
