Default Making a sambora shirt

Hi there,

A couple of weeks ago I decided to make my own "sambora shirt". Afther I ve found a perfect shirt for it and some good images from the front(I d still like to have more) I decided to print the SAMBORA letters on it in Old Gondor (I m going to change the font a bit cause it isn t perfectly the same, but it comes close). But I ve never did shirt printing before. Can anybody give me tips? What kind of materials I should use? etc.

Thanks in advance,

Aragorn

The pic is from richiesambora.com.
Anyway, the official shirt looks like crap to me; it s not the exactly the same. So I decided to make my own one.

If you're going to use a black shirt, go to your local office supply or crafts store and pick up iron-on transfer paper for DARK shirts (this is very important, LOL). Next, print out the lettering onto the transfer paper (you might need a imaging program for this; if you do, let me know). After that, you'll have to cut out each letter (this can be a pain) and then peel off the transfer backing (it's not sticky; just bit so you can get some permanence). Place the letters where you want them (using measuring tape would be a good idea), put the wax paper over the letters, and IRON! And voila, instant Richie shirt for LOTS cheaper than the original. Hope this helps!

Thanks a lot! Are there any tricky moments in this "shirt-making-procedure"? (where I have to pay extra attention). What's the chance on a succefull ending? (is it so easy everyone can do it succecfuly).

Aragorn,
having a "bad english day", or is it just the beer?

PS If someone has any good "shirt pictures" from the front; feel free to post.

Aragorn,

The process itself really isn't tricky -- the only flub-ups I made (I made four matching shirts for my friends and me for the Giants shows) was that on one, I ironed on the image and it wasn't exactly in the center (oops -- you might want to measure first, LOL) and on another, I didn't realize that I had to let the wax paper cool before I removed it from the shirt to unveil the image (no harm was done; I was just wondering why the image wasn't set yet).

GOOD LUCK!

PS For inspiration, here is a clear picture of the shirts I made for my friends and me for Giants (it was originally the back of an old shirt from the New Jersey tour, but I found a picture of it on eBay, edited it and enlarged it with my imaging program, and embellished it with rhinestones. I'm the one in the middle -- my Mom has one on, too, but it's not as clear:
