Default Mark Knopfler :/

Quote:
LONDON (Reuters) - Dire Straits frontman Mark Knopfler has pulled out of a charity concert with guitarist Eric Clapton after a motorcyle accident in which he broke his collarbone, his record company says.

The 53-year old singer-guitarist had been due to perform with Clapton at London`s Royal Albert Hall on March 25 in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Mercury Records said in a statement on Tuesday that the show, part of a week of charity concerts at the venue, would still go ahead with Clapton and pop violinist Nigel Kennedy.

Knopfler was riding his Honda motorcyle to rehearsals for his up-coming European tour on Monday morning when he collided with a red Fiat Punto in London`s smart Belgravia area.

He was taken to hospital for treatment of a broken collarbone and six broken ribs, and was later discharged in a stable condition.

The female driver of the Fiat was unhurt.

Knopfler enjoyed a string of hits with 1980s supergroup Dire Straits including "Sultans of Swing" and "Money for Nothing".

A Mercury Records spokeswoman said she had no information about how the injuries might affect Knopfler`s European concert tour, due to begin in April.

...and I'll be hoping it doesn't affect his concert in Manchester on the 6th of June. I heard about the accident on the news this morning and was gutted. He won't be playing guitar for a while that's for sure.

Jees.... The guy's in a serious accident, could have died, and your only concern is that you don't miss out on your concert!!!

Only joking
