Default Me and my Monkey

Anyone else heard this; from Robbie Williams' latest album Escapology.

It's my favourite from the album, such a cool song. It has quite a comical aspect, but that's part of what makes it so good;

"There was me and my monkey, And with his dungarees and roller blades"

Yup heard it... I think it's one of the better songs off of the album - it's definitely something new and original it's a fun song . How can one come up with lyrics like these:

He ran his little monkey fingers through yellow pages
Called up some escort services and ordered some okey doke
Forty minutes later there came a knock at the door
In walked this big bad ass baboon into my bedroom with three monkey whores

lol

Robbie isn't too original in any way. He's okay singer and has got good sense of humour, but original? Never.

The Beatles did it all and they did it first...

"Everybody's got something to hide except for me and my monkey..."

I guess you're not a big fan of Robbie then? lol.

I think his first album was really good, and full of energy. The second was much darker, including the awesome Karma Killer. The third was much more mainstream pop, and the latest is much more mature.

I´ve been chasing you for a long time amigos and now your monkey´s gonna die

I also like this song very much. How about ´Handsome Man´?

Hello did you miss me? I know I´m hard to resist.

It´s hard to be humble when you´re so ****in´ big.

And ´Sexed Up´. Just out of nowhere: SREW YOU.

I wouldn't say I'm a fan but I don't hate him. He's got some good songs, though he only writes lyrics... Guy's been doing all the composing. But I really don't think you can call Robbie an original artist, he's just an entertainer.

Yeah, handsome man is funny too. It's a very cocky, arrogant song, but good anyway. I don't really like Sexed Up too much, but I like Monsoon and Something Beautiful, they're quite good.

There are 2 hidden tracks at the end of the album;

After Nan's Song has finished, wait about 10 seconds, and the first one will start. Then after you have listened to it, keep fast forwarding until you hear the next one. The second is the better one; quite funny.

His first and second albums also have hidden tracks; the first album has a poem written by Robbie to his old school teacher. The second album has 2 hidden tracks, but as far as I know, the third album doesn't.

I think ´I´ve been expecting you´ is his best album so far but I like the new one very much.

I don't know about how he writes with Guy, but I know they just split up (as writing partners), so his next album should be interesting.

I think that he is a great entertainer too, but some of his songs are great; Angels, Strong, Rock DJ etc.

'Nans song' is actually the first track of which he wrote the lyrics & which he composed on his own - he just started with playing guitar & learned a few chords. I saw some documentary on him some time ago that was pretty impressive I have to say, there's quite a history behind this guy!
Sure his entertaining skills had a big contribution to all the fame he has now, but he defiinitely has some musical talent as well.
