Default mexican justice - backward people

Probably most of you have heard that 13 Britsh citizens have been arrested by mexican authorities on suspicion of tourist visa violations. These brits belong to a british forces cavers club for serving/ex serving uk military who explore various underground caves throughout the world, as a hobby.
These guys are often led by civilian professional cave explorers who are hired for their expertise.
In Mexico last week, 6 of the explorers were trapped in an underground cave and were only rescued by two british divers flown in from the UK with help from two mexican navy divers-at their gov't insistence.
All 13 have now been arrested and held in mexican prisons under possible tourist visa violations.
They are being investigated for illegally extracting uranium, and illegally mapping the underground caves!!!!!!!!Sorry where are the radiation suits etc?
All explorers map their surroundings in case they ever get lost.
So mexico keeps our gringos in jail while that asshole Vincente Fox looks to find a way to jail them.
He does not jail those who try illegally to get into USA.
New york is full of hispanic illegals who don't speak any english
Mexico is the cesspit of South American illegal immigration into USA.
Fox should be doing more to stop the inllux of drugs and hispanics from getting through.

Mexican authorities have dropped their investigation into claims six British cavers rescued from a flooded cavern were illegally looking for uranium.

Default Hi Mongoose

the travel was done under normal tourism procedures-eg MOD are not notified of these clubs non uk activities.
I am still a member of the The Royal Signals mountaineering club as well as other outdoor activities. The army has no resonsibility over these clubs/associations as they include serving/ex serving members and civilians who are professional trainers or experts invited to take part.

You should read a book by Hugh McManners "Crowning the dragon" and published by Grafton- the story of a ten man British army expedition to the 3rd highest unclimbed peak inthe Chinese Karakoram.
great book

External army activities/hobbies mean paying your own way

Seems a bit overboard, when there are a lot illegals from Mexico in the U.S. and Fox doesn't seem to mind. Where these guys really doing anything that wrong that would endanger anyone else? Maybe just me,but it seems silly unless the Uranium thing is more serious than I understand.

well, firstly British forces men would NOT be mining for uranium :], but secondly Uranium is used for nuclear weapons...had a bunch of arabs been caving in that area the situation would be a little more serious :]
