No, it’s most definitely not comparing two different things, it’s an airtight comparison. Celebrity status should not be a factor in the eyes of the law… MJ is as Jim said, just another 40 year old guy who goes to bed with children and needs to be treated appropriately whether that be punitive or therapy based (Sadly very ineffectual in cases like this). The difference is he has had the luxury of buying his way out of 2 court cases and avoiding help or punishment by settling with his accusers, something the average 40 year old weirdo wouldn’t be able to do.
You say it’s different because we “know” things about him through his interviews and work but that is just a public persona. I’m sure a huge number of people on the board here feel they know a lot about the band members of Bon Jovi but I imagine very few people could vouch for exactly what sort of people they are in their private sphere.
MJ may be a target for compensation seekers or he may be an habitual sex offender… whichever he certainly needs a lot of help.
