I don't see any problem with middle names. Its just a unique tradition.

Mine is Scott, my dad's first name. Originally it was going to be Jon. Not after BJ though. My brother wound up with Jon for a middle name.

I think my middle name is rather plain as well as my first name. I think I kept my middle name a secret until middle school - not because I hated it, but because i had a secret! Now, all my friends now my middle name and I know theirs. Funny how I can remember middle names better than birthdays.

I was named after my two grandmothers. My mother's mom's name was Mary and my father's mom's name is Ruth. Mary Ruth.

I have nothing against middle names, but I don't have one. My brother has and it's Desiré (after my Grandfather), his first name is Kris

My middle name, James, has never bothered me. I've never seen the point in having a middle name. Don't know where it came from, I've not inherited it from anyone.

I have the same first name, William, as my grandad (and uncle's middle name) from my mum's side. I don't think it was inherited as such because it's been shortened to Will by a lot of family and friends.

My middle-name is Katharina which is my grandma's name. It was somehow a dedication to her.

My parents thought of calling me only Katharina but this name was very out of fashion when I was born and everyone to whom my mother said that she wants to name her child Katharina said something like "Oh my, you can't give the child a name of an old woman". Well, nowadays every 2nd girl is named Katharina here, times are changing LOL.
