Default More idiocy from the Middle East...

New documentary with Muslims talking about their shirah (sp?) laws etc...

Apparently in Muslim law, if you convert to another religion then you will be killed and these people don't see the problem with this and why they can't do it ont he streets of Britain. And this is coming from top Muslim scholars and public figures.

Grim times

Anything I post here will offend someone so how about I say - their rights end where my rights begin.

Haven't these people ever heard of separation of church and state?

Default You are mistaken!

I believe you fell in the trap of believing whatever you hear, I am sure that what you are talking about is part of a bigger context, things are not that simple, not like that, I am sure it was presented in a misleading way. Besides, there are so many different groups in Islam, so they don’t have to be all right. As a Muslim, I respect every religion, and I respect the right for every human to decide his religion. Believe me guys, it is a big mess, the very few "extremist" minorities are getting all the attention, because of their controversy, and the true essence of Islam is being ignored. So please, don't generalize theories about middle easterns or Muslims, because first of all it is not accurate, and then because it leads to the kind of carelessness and humiliation we see everyday in Palestine and Iraq!

Very well said!
Once again: DO NOT generalize!

Ermmm...did you really think that they forbid this music in the holy scriptures? (don't ask me what it's called) ...I'd really like to know how they would have known what music people will listen to so many canturies later...

Rock and Roll was considered the "Devil's music" in the 50's by the church so it isn't so farfetched that a religion "bans" certain music.

but it isn't the religion, it's just the people. Ok, people that belong to the religion but no the religion itself. Or did god come down and told someone to hate rock? Or ha sthere been a new prophet in the 50's?
