Yes Alwyn i know what you are saying but if you took away Religion then there is one less excuss for a fight, its like religion seperates people so by give them just cause to alianate against them and to provoke a fight

Totally agree!! Nearly every single war has been in the name of a God or a religion. Maybe God doesn't want it to happen, but it does.

Come on! This is not about religion! It's just an excuse. Take away religion and they'll find something else. Do you think Osama Bin Laden does this for religious reasons? Then how come he doesn't kill himself among other people to go straight to heaven? That's why he tells his people to do and yet he won't do it. If he hadn't religion to back him, he'd just make up some other excuse.

I agree - take away religion and there will be war over something else. Most wars come down to control and power (with money backing both) In this case (in the mid-east), it's the people in power in the religion that controls the masses. They are not going to give up that control easily at all - it does not have much to do with the religion though.

Default well...!

It was Edward Saeed who said that Knowledge is power. That's what makes politics, that's how human beings control each other, and thats how some poeple drive others to an unjust war against those who are "primitive" or "ignorant", and the latest fashion is "terrorists".
Anyway, the whole discussion shifted to another direction, the most important thing for me still is not to generalize!
And by the way moongoose (i hope i remebered that right), there are far more important things to me other than deciding whether the music i listen to is prohibited in my religion, i have been a Bon Jovi fan since 95, and i have been praying since 97, and i still can't see where the problem is!

Mr Bin laden may not be trully fighting "in the name of Allah" but you bet that the vast majority of people who listen and pick up arms for him are doing so because of their religious beliefs.

I was reading this so seriously then I saw the word MOONGOOSE OUCH THAT IS SO FUNNY. Hey Goose show us your butt

DAN ,MOON U GOOSE . Its Mongoose by the way.

Ok back on topic , Its not the BJ type of music that offends people , its the lyrics and what they represent, there are lyrics I hear that I have problems with. How can any religious person support the lyrics living in sin, there are plenty of others. In general a lot of them are faith based due to Jons/bands religious catholic upbringing.
