As for comparing it to 3rd world countries, of course we're all lucky, damn lucky, because we can afford a home and food. That said, we shouldn't just give up talking about things like this just because some people have a worse life than most of us.

.... very true.

Plus the fact that their job consists of a whole lot more than kicking a ball around for 2 hours or so.... Being a professional athlete demands more work than most 40hour minimum wage earners put in, not to mention the health risks and early retirment age ...

Being on minimum wage can be quite the cushy job ... from the daily requirements to the way of getting that job in the first place.

agreed.

Speakign personally, I do have a bit cash to throw around I suppose, but I dont buy things randomly. I will spend more than I should on things, and I could reduce my monthly spending bye about 200 quid.

I feel that if you have the money to spend, it makes sense to spend it. But when you spend large amounts unnecessarily, that is senseless. Unless you are a multi-millionaire celeb with a high life reputation to live up to (like a footballer, glamour girl etc). Personally I do enjoy an expensive car, and pricey clothes, but I wont buy a random gadget or whatever I don't need.

Modesty is the key to having a lot of money IMO.
