Mouse Burns House

I get what you're saying about the life-expectancy and quality to humans. I think that's one reason it horrifies me that someone would throw a mouse into a fire. Mice are actually very intelligent creatures (hence so many psychological studies on them). They've been very useful to humans in medical research too. I don't welcome mice into my house, but I couldn't justify torturing one either!

But IMO even animals lower on the food chain shouldn't be tortured to death. I detest spiders and I wouldn't throw a live spider into a fire because it's a prolonged cruel death. I saw someone in college poor salt on a slug and thought it was incredibly cruel and got really upset over that. If you're going to kill a creature, make it as quick and as painless as possible.

That was my first thought too and I had that initial wave of panic!! I was also relieved to find out it wasn't about her!

I recently set a spider on fire.

Sue me, I'm not gonna have that bitch bite my niece when she's playing outside, I found the hole she was hiding under poured gasoline in it and threw a match. it was a big ass spider about this big:
