You have copyright over the song, and the lyrics and the music, but tablature is none of those.
All this is hopefully just a hoax, because if it's true, and they come to try and take my site down, I'm gonna sue then. All I'm willing to do is take down the lyrics, but the tabs will stay.

Unauthorised use of lyrics and tablature deprives the songwriter of the ability to make a living, and is no different than stealing," he said.

bollox it does. Im sure the actual artists dont care, or are actually pleased that people wish to learn their work. As long as its properly credited then i dont see a problem.
The arguement could just escalate and escalate..their gona copyright the G,C,D chord sequence or something next, that'd be fun.. they could sue 90% of the musicians in the world with copyright infringement to 'protect' the musical communtity.
