Okay... the computer worked fine Friday night and Saturday night. I was even burning CDs with no problems. I went to my usual websites, but never had much of a connection, so I couldn't really post anything on message boards. I disconnected and reconnected to the internet several times trying to get an active connection. But I disconected from the internet before trying to shut it down.
I selected "turn off computer" and the blue screen that says Windows is shutting down stayed up for a long time. So, I manually cut the power. I have the computer hooked to a surge protector, so when I'm not using it, the no power goes to it.
Sunday, when I turned it on, all it does is make a beep/buzzing sound for a few seconds at a time. There's a break. Then it makes the sound again. Nothing at all is showing up on the monitor. The CD drive will open and close with no problem. There's nothing in the A drive. There's a green light on on the front and a green light on at the back. I checked all the connection cables and they were secure.
Any ideas??
Thanks for listening!
Becky
