i don't know, this is quite weird imo. knowing bush's close ties to the bin laden family and also his connection to the US military industrial complex (companies that have been benefited a lot by the attack in wtc and the wars that followed), i think that bin laden's message now comes to kinda approve and justify (in american people's eyes), bush's policies. there must be a reason why bin laden hasn't been caught yet.

That is so true! Yesterday I watched Fahrenheit 9/11 and I couldn't believe how a President couldn't react to the breaking news that his country was under atack and instead remained sat there, making believe he was reading a children's book. What a charismatic leader! Of course it would have taken anyone by surprise, but come on!! He lost 10 precious minutes!!

And everything else the film says. I do wonder how anyone, after watching that, is willing to vote for him again.

Granted, Kerry will have his dirty laundry as well, but Bush's dirty laundry won't go away even with the best of cleaners.

If you look up information about Fahrenheit 9/11, you will see that a lot of it is just bosh. It is amazing the way people can edit things these days. Reality shows are proof of that.

I don't know about that one. I love the movie of course, but I think too much drama was made about that particular reaction. Hindsight is 20/20 and I still don't know what the 'right' reaction would have been. If he had jumped up and run out of the classroom, people would say he 'had lost it' and can't handle pressure. I don't know.

This was one instance where you just can't predict how you'll react and you can't read into somebody else's reaction.

He could have given some kind of order, something to show he *cared*. I didn't mean he should have stormed out of the classroom. But, he took 10 minutes to get moving. That's too much!!

Would it have stopped things from happening if he had reacted earlier? Probably not, but it would certainly have made a better impression!

I've been browsing through the site. It does not clear everything it intends to clear. They thing they are trying to counter the film with are sometimes quite blurry from what I see.

But anyway, there's two sides two each coin, the thing is you may look at both sides but you have to toss it at some point. Of course you know there's still both of them, but ones seems more plausible.

Oh, and I know, and I've always thought, that Michael Moore is way too biased and shouldn't be trusted to the letter. Still I think what he has done was necessary since otherwise some important things would have gone unnoticed by the general public. I know it is going to the other extreme and the mid-point is always best. But sometimes to counterbalance you need to go that far.

maybe. that website does nothing for me - it doesn't contradict any of the important issues in that movie (which I've only seen half of).

9/11 certainly includes exaggerations, but the facts are facts and as such too scary for my comfort. I'd feel the same way if these facts were 'dressed down' as I do about them 'exaggerated/emphasized" whatever you think of them.

that's true. you can't say what would have been the right reaction and that's not the point. we're talking about a few minutes (and his cabinet knew what to do better than him) while it's four years of what he has done that matter.
the look on his face and the fact that he was pretending to be reading the book was what looked 'funny' though.

he exaggerates but he has created a very important movie for the american public indeed. in that movie, i saw things that i had already seen, i heard things that i had already heard but for many americans this was something new and for this reason shocking maybe.
sometimes i think that many americans are so afraid of terrorism and everything that even if you show them the truth (and i think there is a truth) they just won't see it. i won't be surprised at all if that stupid person gets re-elected. the republicans know where to aim very well right now. what surprises me though is that if the american casualties weren't that many the invasion in iraq would have been perfectly fine for most americans.

I think you have a very valid point here. Which reminds me of what I've been discussing with many friends lately. Remember the famous words of Roosevelt "we have nothing to fear but fear itself"? Well, people like to think of those words as words of encouragement to not let 'bad guys' intimidate us and thus, fight back. Though, I believe that the current administration is playing on the fear of the public and possibly manipulates/exaggerates it to suit its needs.
