Oh yeah, some people there will help them alright. Help them right out of their wallets. Hehe

Seriously, there are some nicer sections there, but there is a mix.

4. Fast Lane, Asbury Park, 207 Fourth Ave, and... (is torn down meanwhile)

5. Stone Pony Asbury Park, 913 Ocean Ave:
Jon played there with his earlier bands.

The Stone Pony is closed most of the times. Go there when there is a concert or something or on weekends. It's only opened then. We drove there 2 times in August and both times it was closed, even though the opening hours at the door said it should be open. We rang at the door and got luck that we came in to buy some merchandise but usually it is closed when there aren't any events. They only let us in for buying merchandise because we said we came from Germany and this day is our last chance to come.

You probably get quite shocked when you come to Asbury Park. It is really a city of ruins like Bruce sings.

So you guys wear bullet proof jacket everyday??

Jersey City is only one small city in the the state of New Jersey. And even it isn't anywhere near as crime ridden as it was in the seventies. I grew up in Union City which is right next door to Jersey City and never had a problem. I still have friends that live there and they have had no problems either. It is a Mouse says though - there are some parts of the city that you don't go to. Locals obviously know where NOT to go - a visitor would be wise to have a guide first.

I'm sure certain cities in Europe are the same way though. I'm sure there are parts of London I would not be welcome in after dark.

Yes at least in the really big ones! We don't have huge cities in Sweden and as far as I know there is no real danger to walk around in Stockholm in the middle of the night...

But then again, we have these small towns where there are no policemen and in such places there is no law! But I still wouldn't call them dangerous.

It doesn't matter if there are some criminals in NJ I've decided that I will go there some day!
