i doubt said retalitaion would involve bombing downtown toronto....

ive not seen one person here or anywhere else say that israel shouldn't be doing something, but the problems people have are what and how israel is retaliating.

just thought id send a quick reply to this in particular from above website that you decided to quote . and quote something else from the same site.

" Every time we do something you tell me America will do this and will do that . . . I want to tell you something very clear: Don't worry about American pressure on Israel. We, the Jewish people, control America, and the Americans know it."

Ariel Sharon, October 3, 2001, to Shimon Peres, as reported on Kol Yisrael radio.

So don't talk to me about FOX being biased (except Geraldo there is no excuse for Geraldo or his moustache or Greta VanSustran...). This is all proof of much worse ethics violations than anything FOX has done. People need to check several sources for their news.

im not sure why you have linked these sites? i have never heard of them before im not sure how many people have? they seem to be a bit of a joke really.

Incidentally i think one of the main reasons fox gets so much criticism is because of the constant use of "fair and balanced" the most ludicrous claim i have ever heard.

if you want to debate whether or not fox is indeed fair and balanced we can do that?

(ps just read your Skeleton Key thread beavoid and i no longer want to argue with someone who can produce such utter brilliance)

This story has been on FOX, Drudge, and around the world now. It is true. If you would read the site or check Reuters, they have fired the photographer and removed all of his pictures. LGF is simply the site that broke the story. I hadn't been there until the other day either, just wanted to give them credit where credit was due. And this 'joke' of a site just exposed a major scandal that affected news around the world. Some joke...

Again, my point is not necessarily the superiority of FOX News, but that 'acceptable' news from Europe is at least as bias in the other direction and can be much more unethical in its practices. Therefore, you must get your news from varying sources.

So you, oh brilliant one, would liken the importance of the Israelie/Palestinian struggle to some silly movie? What does this say about you?

Thanks for checking up on me though, Daddy. Hope you had a laugh, as that was the point.

Im sure they will be happy to recieve your "oh so brilliant" credit. what an honour. So one rouge reporter behaves in this way and gets fired , and this proves what ? its one person. it says nothing about reuters and it certainly doesnt support your idea that reuters is unreliable or bias.

Im not talking about superiority of the fox "news" network. you seem to think that you can equate the bbc with Fox "news". id love to see this evidence of bias and unethical practice that you keep referring to. where is it?

US opposes Israeli offensive

Email this Story

9 Aug, 9:33 PM

The White House said that it opposes Israel's decision to escalate the violence in the Mideast by deciding to order ground troops deeper into Lebanon to attack Hezbollah targets.

Although White House press secretary Tony Snow said the message was for both sides, his remarks came as Israel's Security Cabinet voted to expand its war effort.

The criticism was among the strongest the Bush administration has issued against Washington's long-time ally since the fighting began four weeks ago.

"We are working hard now to bridge differences between the US position and some of the positions of our allies," Snow told reporters gathered near President Bush's ranch, where he is on holiday. "We want an end to violence and we do not want escalations."

Meanwhile, rifts over a plan to stop the fighting at the UN Security Council delayed approval of a resolution.

A draft proposed by the US and France fell apart, and the two countries were offering competing visions.

France proposed new language on a total ceasefire and Israeli pullout, but the US rejected it out of concern that the Lebanese cannot assert control over Hezbollah strongholds in the south without help from a robust international force.

"The Lebanese army, while an absolutely essential part of any solution, is not itself independently capable of dealing with the problem, at least not yet," Snow said.

Snow said the US was working on another draft resolution, but he would not estimate when a vote might be possible.

"I think at this point it's beyond any of us to come up with a firm prediction about when you get a resolution," he said.

good news imo. the US are probably the only state that can stop or prevent israel doing anything (if thats even possible) and hopefully realising they don't have unquestioning support from the US will make them rethink some tactics.

I didn't say it was right to do so. I only said that my government is talking out of both sides of their mouths. Personally - I am against war and mass weapons. Unfortunately most men believe that this is how to get their point across - and if you read history - it's been going on forever..

maybe veering off topic slightly..but on the news last night they were showing clips from the new 9.11 disaster movie (not documentary). Watching The Twin Towers with disaster movie sound track added made my skin crawl! I just cannot begin to understand why a movie like this has been made.... Let's just get the salt out and pack it in that wound! and make some bucks along the way!
