awful

here's what the oompas said over at BJ.com:

Please, what happened in Rhode Island is TRAGIC. The information we're giving you is our understanding of how things work. Do NOT read into this as scripture and take any assumptions from our answer when trying to understand the horrific events of last night. To the best of our knowledge, though band members may have known each other within the industry, they were not considered friends. Our hearts go out to the band, the fans, the families and all in West Warwick who are suffering today.

I think both the Iran plane incident and this fire at the small club are totally tragic. It does not matter how many lives were lost... the point is, lives were lost, and that's very sad, especially because they had no control over what was happening.

Default very tragic

i thought krb would say it's just natures way of reducing the american population!!!!!!!!!!!!, anyway my condolences go out to the family and friends of those killed and injured.
It just goes to show how stupid american fire laws are. After the Bradford city fire disaster in the Uk, all stadiums were told to upgrade their facilities and remove any wooden seats etc. No smoking was banned.in this case, we have a band using pyrotechics in a conert venue that is made of wood.
Madness!

Mr Santana who runs the Stone Pony in Asbury Park New Jersey (where BJ/Sprinsteen used to playin the early days) had White Stripe play at the Pony last week. He said on Radio 5(UK) last night that the band set off fireworks without permission in the club and was asked to stop. You need a permit to do an indoor firework show and White didnt have one. Mr Sanatana was not impressed by the bands lack of care towards their fans and his club.
