I know, I was about to post the same thing.

You suppose he got lucky this week and hence has no problems?

not got a problem with it at all.

I buy tickets from touts all the time. sometimes you get bumped, sometimes you come out top and most of the time it works out the same.

I saw an advert on ebay for someone sellign oasis tickets. I managed to get a hold of a handfula nd if i couldnt get people to come i would have been sellign them too. anyways someone asked this guy if he was sellign them for genuine reasons or if he was just wanting to make a profit at other peoples expense. to which he replied, I'm doing it for the same reason ticketmaster etc... do it.

which when you think about it, isn't a whole lot different really...

supply and demand. if I'm prepared to buy a £15 ticket for double that then the guy would be a fool to say no...

Nothing wrong with it from a moral standpoint. I've done it myself. Wouldn't do it anymore, for 2 reasons:

1.I can't afford to.
2.Scalping used to be somewhat harmless. I remember my first Bon Jovi concert, my dad bought tickets from one of the licensed places. Face value was $19.50, and he paid $35. Not too bad. Nowadays, with the advent of ticketmaster.com, Ebay and other online sources, these licensed companies are doing everything short of robbing people who really want tickets. It's gotten completely out of hand. Even if I could afford $300 a ticket for a concert, I wouldn't pay it and help these companies profit.

I guess it depends slightly. Some scalpers, like the guys who buy a shitload of tickets and sell them on for ridiculous amounts are unscrupulous scum as far as I'm concerned. They're denying genuine fans from getting tickets at a reasonable price. The difference between them and tickermaster is TM act as a vehicle for selling artists tickets at a set price. Sure they add on a service charge, but it's very minimal and they are a profit making business who are providing the public with a service so nothing wrong with that. There is something very wrong with one guy buying a ticket for $100 just so he can sell it for a $1000.

I've no problem however with somebody buying a ticket for face value then either changing his mind or being unable to attend and deciding to sell it on and make a small profit. Example; buying for $70, selling for $100. I've done it and I've bought tickets like that.

Personally I just can't understand how somebody could have such low morals as to knowingly deny genuine fans a chance to see their favourite artist and then sell those tickets on for an exorbitant prices.

I will buy from scalpers IF I can afford it and ONLY if I couldn't get a ticket any other way. I do remember a certain Springsteen show that the only way I could get tickets in any form was from a scalper - so I did. It's not a moral issue with me but more of a monetary one LOL.

As long as I could afford it and I was sure that the concert would be worth it, then I'd buy from a scalper. I've not had to do it yet tho.

Im with Kathleen on this one. I will only buy from a tout/scalper if there is definately no chance of obtaining a ticket any other way and if its a show I really dont wanna miss. I dont like what these bastard scalpers are doing, but in a way I dont blame them either. They know theyre gonna make a fortune from other people. Its not right I know, but its a excelllent way to make a fast buck.

I will more than likely be buying from scalpers this summer for BJ. Im not gonna miss these UK shows, so what else can I do? There seriously isnt any other option.
