BUBBLE BURSTS FOR WISPA BAR Feb 19 2004
ONE of Britain's most popular chocolate bars has bitten the dust in a major shake-up.

The Wispa bar was introduced by Cadbury Schweppes in 1983 to compete against Rowntree's Aero.

But the favourite has been quietly axed in a huge brand rethink aimed at reviving flagging sales.

Figures out yesterday revealed Cadbury Schweppes's pre-tax profits plummeted from £830million in 2002 to £564million last year.

Wispa will be renamed Dairy Milk Bubbly to align it with the firm's top Dairy Milk label.

And Kit Kat maker Nestle is launching a curry flavour version after sales of the bar dived 9.1 per cent from £104.8million in 2002 to £95.2million last year.

It is also set to bring out a lemon cheesecake Kit Kat which is already a hit in Germany and Japan.

Hehe, I've heard of mint-flavoured ones, but this is a bit ridiculous.

That is bullsh1t. I am a firm observer of Kit Kat since it is the only foreign chocolate that is available everywhere. I have only ever seen one kind: the original one.
