How about the do not click here thing where everyone will click? I think it's the same for warnings as such. If images are not allowed, links shouldn't be allowed IMO. If they are then everyone will start posting everything through links (with a helpful warning of course) and say it's all righte - they did warn you not to look. When in fact a warning subconscously feels more like an invitation so to speak.

And before someone calls me a prude. Well, I'm not. There's nothing wrong with nudity. But I just think this is not the place for it.

We all know the basis for that is unfair and why should male nipples not be considered as female nipples? Well, I don't have the answer but that's they way things stand.

Also it's a cultural thing. In Japan pubic hair is one of the most censored things while in other countries it's not. What's the basis then? You could start a whole debate about it and never come to a conclusion because in the end it all springs from what you learned, etc. As it stands there's nothing implicitly wrong, is there? But I guess things don't work like that.

But in the end all this let's-change-it attitude is very fine but it doesn't work. You can't change the world overnight.

And once more - you have to make things crystal clear on this board so as not to be misunderstood (and that doesn't even warrant you won't) - I'm not offended by these pics. But there are standards, policies, ratings, and all that that should be born in mind.

Even though Keeper again (deliberately?) misunderstood me, I still ask: what's considered nudity? What are the limits? What can we post? If all Neil posted was a link, why was it deleted?

As to people ignoring the warning, it's their problem. If you can't control yourself so that you won't click a link you don't want to, you shouldn't be on the Internet at all.

My understanding is that showing nipples, vaginas or all out ass, is considered nudity. Of course people will try to push this envelope too, and then it is left up to the mod's discretion. No nudity has always been the policy, but as I have said, links with warnings containing nudity have never been an issue before, so until we hear from Peter I don't know.

You have to understand that this is a new issue, so we may not have an answer until it is sorted out with Peter. But going from Peter's past decisions on nudity, all links and pictures are prohibited until he says otherwise.

Someone brought up the notion of young people viewing threads. I don't think that is as much of an issue with this fan base as the fact that many of us post here at work. So we would risk getting fired for viewing "pornography" at work if we opened random threads and found naked pictures. Also, many workplaces have internet filters that could shut the site out to users if nude photos were detected--same with certain words.

Ice, I don't think I misunderstood you. In fact I was talking about how complicated it is to define nudity and such things. That's all I meant to say. Plase let's not start again.

I see your point about looking at JT from work , that alone would get most people fired . There are a lot of teeenagers here that are only 15.

THis is a bit like the swearing debate, except most people dont put a warning before they swear. !

Most teenagers at 15 have seen plenty of this kind of things already, Dawn.

... And I really don't think this is like the swearing debate.

I think there is a minimum age of 14 required to even join JT. Like Ice said if only a link was posted no-one would have to look, and to a certain extent if we are just talking about nudity and not pornography then even a 14 year old will have had some experience with it, even if just seeing their own body.

Like I mentioned earlier though an image of someone in a very small piece of clothing which leaves nothing to the imagination can be more provocative than a nude photo. Obviously I am not talking about porn here, just simple non-sexual nudity.

Just out of curiosity what about art? If a photo of a nude statue or patining was posted would that be censored too?

Well one and only reason i don;t want phonography or nudity in JT is, it surely gonna get banned here in kuwait since most of these sites are banned.

But i'm for giving links and giving worning about it before.
