Or

2. We will be in League 1 within three years, and be the next Leeds United.

Personally, I think option no.2 is the most likely but who knows.
I think everyone will sit down, plan a few years and work from there. If that means staying in The Championship, they will do that.

there will be a mass exodus but when you think about it that might not be such a bad thing.

viduka, barton, owen, martins, coloccini, jose enrique ...

it will be a good thing to get those guys off the wage bill and start afresh with passionate players who actually care about the side.

The only players I actually want to keep are Bassong, Harper and Beye. Maybe Steven Taylor.

Damien Duff has said he is staying...brilliant. After 12 months of slagging him off, I have to get used to the fact that the most useless player that was in the premier league is staying with us.

probably on my own here but i'd still take owen back to anfield on a free. admittedly, he wouldn't be an automatic first choice buit what cover do we really have in attack? n'go, voronin?

I'd probably take him on a free but his career is almost over now. He's not even first choice at Newcastle and his mate is managing the team. He's lost it all. Left us to go and win stuff when we went on to win Champs League & FA Cup.

I really like Michael Owen, a great player who always looked hungry to do well, scored goals, did good for the team.

Sad truth is, he didn't want to come to Newcastle. He hasn't look interested since he got injured at Spurs back in 2005, whether that's because his injuries have affected him or because he is playing at a rubbish club, I don't know. To be honest, it's not a worthy excuse either, I think no matter what you have to give 100% every time you play a game of football and he has not done that for us(in my opinion).

Injuries have let him down, but I think he thinks he is too big for Newcastle when really, it's where he should be now. He's totally lost it and WAS a great player.

I don't think it's outside the realms of possibility for us to take a chance on Owen. Just think what some of our young forwards (Agbonlahor, Young, Delfounso) could learn from him. And with Laursen and Barry (probably) gone, he's be a welcome 'experienced' addition.

Talks have been opened with Barry regarding a new 4-year, £65,000-a-week deal but i don't think he's going to take it. MON has even come out and said they are willing to let him see out his final year of his contract and then leave on a free next summer, that's how much we need him.
