S before consonants (except for b,d,g,l,m,n,r; uh a lot of exceptions :P ) it's always an s; before b,d,g,l,m,n,r it sounds like z in English. In intervocalic positions it can be either way, but in the North it always sounds like z (example: casa in the North sounds like caza, in the Center-South like caSa)

this one needs no translation: idiota, stressed on 'o'. The second 'i' is a semivowel (as 'y' in English)

or cretino...now cretino maybe sounds slightly old fashioned, but it's alright lol

I love this - I have an Italian Mother who will gladly translate anything for me that I need to say. Fortunately - she doesn't mind translating the sort of things I need to express myself on a construction site

I've had many of those kinds of days. The last two have been prime examples! I've yelled at my boss (who is fortunately super cool!), three of my friends and about 5 of my co workers! I've even been getting cranky here. LOL!
